1. Hire contract followed by 2. Fee Exemption Contract
Hire ContractsI, __________________________________ (name of parent/caregiver), agree to the hire of _____________________________ (instrument) from Wilkins Public School under the following conditions: • The rate of hire is $50 per school term. • An instrument will be available for my child’s use once the term hire fee and this signed contract have been received by the school. A receipt will then be issued by the school. Note that if the demand for the nominated instrument exceeds the school’s supply, there will be a delay in the instrument being made available and the parent/caregiver will be notified accordingly. • The school Music Co-ordinator must be notified immediately when an instrument has been damaged or lost. Any damage to or loss of the instrument will be fully funded by the parent/caregiver. In such cases, where damage or loss is reported, an invoice for the cost of repairs will be sent to the parent/caregiver. An instrument must not be taken for repairs without the consent of the Music Co-ordinator. • The school takes no responsibility for the security of the instrument once hired out. Even if the instrument is lost or stolen on school property, the parents or caregivers are liable for the cost of the instrument. Students should ask teachers to lock their instrument in their storeroom to assist in keeping that instrument secure. Students’ instruments should not be loaned to others. • If students no longer play their instrument either in the band/ensemble or have lessons on school premises, the instrument is to be returned to the school immediately. Parents/caregivers will be billed at the standard rate until the instrument has been returned. • By week 8 of term four, instruments must be returned to the school for routine checking and for stocktake purposes. If the student wishes to hire the instrument over the Christmas holidays, a further $40 will be charged. However, the student must STILL return the instrument in week 8 for assessment for damages and can pick up the instrument prior to the holidays. Instruments may be recalled at other times for servicing.
